From the Rusk’s
“We spent three nights surrounded by nature and it was over too quick. The Pines was perfect for the three of us with two comfy queen beds complete with luxurious blankets. The mini home felt spacious and was well equipped with many thoughtful touches. We travel with a service dog who napped on a fluffy dog bed and was spoiled with homemade dog treats left for her by the caring owners. The wood fired hot tub was a nice treat and pretty easy to heat up. The location is great near parks and beaches for day trip exploring. We hope to return for some relaxation and adventure!”From the Mattinson’s
“5/5 - Loved our stay and would highly recommend. The cottage was perfect… spotless, fully equipped, comfortable and we were welcomed with personal notes and snacks. Even our little dog was thought of. The wood fired hot tub was great!”

We had to make an unexpected change to our hot tubs. Following a complaint from a neighbouring property regarding the smoke from our cedar wood-fired hot tubs during wildfire season. Halifax Fire Prevention began reviewing our wood-fired hot tubs under the current municipal bylaws. While the regulations surrounding these hot tubs are quite complex and open to interpretation, we made the decision to transition to new electric hot tubs spas so we can continue providing a consistent and worry-free experience for all of our guests.
Rather than risk a situation where guests could arrive and potentially not be able to use their hot tub, we acted quickly to find a solution. Our priority has always been to ensure that every guest can enjoy the relaxing hot tub experience that is included with their stay.
Your cottage now features a brand-new private 4-person electric hot tub instead of the cedar wood-fired hot tub.
If you were especially looking forward to the unique experience of the wood-fired cedar hot tub, we sincerely apologize for this change and understand it may be disappointing. Please know this was not a decision we wanted to make, and one we felt was necessary to ensure you could still enjoy a private hot tub throughout your stay without uncertainty.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always happy to help and want to ensure your stay is everything you hoped it would be.
